LOGAN SQUARE — A retired "L" car made its way down the middle of Milwaukee Avenue Thursday morning toward its final destination atop a second floor deck in Logan Square.

The old train car is the centerpiece of an amenity deck at a new luxury apartment development set to open later this summer at 2211 N. Milwaukee Ave.

The "L" development is currently leasing and is planning to be complete and ready for its first residents in May, according to the development team.

The building will have 120 apartments and 5,000-square-feet of retail along Milwaukee Avenue.

The train car will be surrounded by a "water feature" to provide a tranquil and relaxing space for residents to hang out, according to the developer.

Monthly rentals are expected to start around $1,500.

The development is one of a handful of major projects that are either under construction or slated to begin this year in Logan Square.
