HUMBOLDT PARK —  Aspiring astronomers of all ages can view the galaxy's celestial bodies on Friday night from the western-most end of The 606's Bloomingdale Trail.

Set for 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the next installment of the "For The Love of Stars" series, which kicked off on the Spring Equinox, will take place at the Exelon Observatory on the Bloomingdale Trail's Western trailhead, 1700 N. Ridgeway Ave.

The 606 and Chicago Park District will be setting up telescopes to view stars, constellations, planets and the moon. Attendees can also bring their own telescopes.

In the event of cloudy skies, the gathering will relocate to nearby Mozart Park, according to the event's website.

Sunset is expected at 7:24 p.m.

Organizers say that "Jupiter will dominate the skies" and there will be  "a razor thin crescent Moon with Mercury low in the western sky" and "two open star clusters in Taurus — Pleiades and Hyades."
