CHICAGO — Police are asking for the community's help in finding the driver of a car that struck a woman and her dog in West Englewood Monday.
The driver of a black, four-door car hit a 51-year-old woman and her dog while they were crossing the street at 59th Street and Damen Avenue at 9:35 a.m. Monday, police said. The driver fled the scene southbound on Damen Avenue following the accident.
The woman was seriously injured in the accident; police did not give the condition of the dog.
Police believe the car to be a black Chevrolet Impala, according to a crime alert Chicago police issued Monday.
