CHICAGO — Online registration for Chicago Park District summer programs and day camps will be Monday and Tuesday, officials said Friday.

At 9 a.m. Monday, registration at chicagoparkdistrict.com will be for parks west of California Avenue.

Parks located east of California Avenue will begin registration at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

In-person registration begins either Saturday or April 11, depending upon the park.

A list of the camps can be found by clicking here.

Camps are typically last 6 hours, though early bird and extended camps are available. Most camps cost between $1 and $3 per hour, though no child will be turned away for inability to pay, the district said.

More than 40,000 people children were enrolled in Chicago Park District camps in 2015, the district said.

"Park District summer day camp enables kids to have fun with field trips and recreational activities, as well as learning new skills with arts and crafts and designated reading time,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement.

In a press release, the Park District highlighted two new camps. In Little Village, La Villita Park will offer day camp in partnership with the local elementary school for indoor activities. In Bronzeville, day camp will debut at the new Ellis Park field house.

Standard day camps run six weeks, from July 5 through August 12, typically from 9 a.m.  to  3 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The district recommends browsing the offerings to save time on online registration day. Wish lists can be created in advance at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com.
