BRIDGEPORT — A 22-year-old Illinois Institute of Technology student was robbed at the bus stop near 35th and Union on Tuesday morning, police said.

Just after 10 a.m., the student was waiting for the eastbound bus back to campus in Bronzeville when two men and a woman — Joseph Love, 39, Duawan Moye, 33, and Latashia Moye, 32 — walked up and noticed the student's stylish sneakers.

One of the men demanded the student give them up, according to police.

But the student refused. They were the only pair of shoes he had, he said.

Instead, the student reached into his pocket, pulled out $40 and handed it to the robbers.

Cash in hand, the robbers hopped on the eastbound 35th Street bus.

A bystander saw the crime unfold and called the cops.

In seconds, the bus was swarmed, police said. The two men and woman landed in jail. They all stand charged with robbery.

The student got his $40 back.
