WRIGLEYVILLE — A construction worker was injured Friday during work at Wrigley Field.

Around 9:40 a.m., the woman was carrying a cart of pipes that fell on top of her inside the ballpark, officials said.

The worker, who is in her mid-30s, suffered facial injuries, back and neck pain, the Chicago Fire Department said. She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center via ambulance and is in good condition.

The woman was not trapped under the pipes and no rescue was needed, a spokesman said. Work continued Friday despite the incident.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
