Northwest Side Businesses Hit By Window-Smashing Burglars

JEFFERSON PARK — Five businesses in Jefferson Park, Portage Park and Edgebrook have been broken into in the last two weeks by burglars who smashed the stores' front window or pried open the front door, police warned Friday.

The incidents happened:

• At 4:15 a.m. March 14 in the 5300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue

• Between 11 p.m. March 17 and 6 a.m. March 18 in the 5500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue

• Between 10:30 p.m. March 17 and 6:30 a.m. March 18 in the 4000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue

• At 3:44 a.m. March 18 in the 5300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue

• At 5:05 a.m. Thursday in the 5500 block of West Devon Avenue

Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8263.
