Chicago Lawn Hit-And-Run Driver Sought By Police

CHICAGO — Police are seeking help in finding the driver of a car the fled the scene of a serious accident in Chicago Lawn.

At about 6:30 p.m. March 12, a person was trying to cross Kedzie Avenue when a car driving westbound on 71st Street struck the person before driving off, police said in a community alert issued Thursday. 

The crash left the pedestrian seriously injured, police said. The car was seen on surveillance footage driving westbound on 71st Street, past Kedzie, after the accident.

Police have described the car as a silver or gray four-door, possibly a Pontiac, according to security footage from near the scene.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call detectives at 312-745-4521.
