BACK OF THE YARDS — Two men were shot to death and another was wounded in separate shootings inside a tiny area of the Back of the Yards neighborhood Tuesday and early Wednesday, police said.

Most recently, at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a well-being check in the 5300 block of South Hermitage Avenue and found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the back of his head, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene, Estrada said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Armani Dickinson, of the 13000 block of South Ellis Avenue.

About 1,000 feet away in the 5200 block of South Winchester Avenue, Estrada said, a 35-year-old man was shot in his chest around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday. He later died.

The morgue identified him as Alcaraz C. Reyes, of the same block.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.

On that same block, Estrada said, a 32-year-old man was arguing with someone around 7 p.m. Tuesday when the other person pulled out a gun and shot him in his arm and back.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, Estrada said.
