WICKER PARK — Police are asking residents to be on the lookout after a group of young men robbed someone in Wicker Park early Friday morning, according to a Saturday community alert.

Just before 4 a.m., police said, a group of four-to-six people between the ages of 14 and 23 jumped out of a silver or white Chevrolet Malibu in the 1800 block of West North Avenue and robbed someone at gunpoint.

Police believe the same group was behind a string of robberies committed in Austin that same morning.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the suspects is encouraged to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
