Hillary Clinton Won Illinois, But Bernie Sanders Won the 11th Ward

BRIDGEPORT — Hillary Clinton may have won Illinois, but it was a different story in the 11th Ward.

In the swath of neighborhoods led by Ald. Patrick D. Thompson, it was all Bernie Sanders.

Election results show folks turned out for Sanders, who took 54 percent of votes in the 11th Ward. Of the 11,609 ballots cast in the area, the senator from Vermont took 6,303 of them.

At the end of the day, after picking up wins in Florida, Ohio and North Carolina, Clinton won Illinois by a very tight margin, extending her lead in the delegate count.

With all Illinois votes counted, Clinton beat Sanders by 2 percentage points.
