BRIDGEPORT — Brace yourselves, folks. Road work is about to take over parts of Halsted Street.

The Chicago Department of Transportation will soon resurface South Halsted Street from South Archer Avenue all the way to West 31st Street.

The work is scheduled to begin Thursday and end in May.

The project will include a wheelchair ramp, sidewalks, curbs, asphalt paving, a concrete bus pad and striping.

“No Parking" signs will be installed along Halsted, restricting parking during work hours.
