AUBURN GRESHAM — A 26-year-old man was shot while walking on the South Side Monday afternoon, police said.

Around 3:30 p.m., the man was walking in the 8300 block of South Winchester Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his buttocks, according to Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, Gaines said.

No one is in custody, police said.
