GRANT PARK — Chicago Ale Fest is returning to Buckingham Fountain this summer, this time with more beer.

The Downtown beer festival, which debuted with 100 brewers last summer, will return to Grant Park with more options June 17-18, organizer Josh Seago said.

About 10 of the 100 brewers will bring extra samples, Seago said. That group includes Goose Island Brewery, which will serve four different versions of its Bourbon County Stout. The ale fest will also add boozy ciders from brewers including Angry Orchard and Crispin to its offerings this summer, Seago said.

"There’s been quite a few beer festivals that have popped up throughout the Chicago area," said Seago, of Naperville-based Lou Dog Events. "There’s no better experience in the Chicagoland area than Buckingham Fountain."

Another new addition to the festival is Portage Park-based Lake Effect Brewing. Clint Bautz, the brewery's founder, said he heard good things from other local breweries who participated last year.

"Hopefully it’ll be beautiful out there in the park. That’s really what it is," Bautz said. "We plan to just enjoy it."

Admission per day will cost $50, which includes 18 three-ounce samples, Seago said. Visit the festival's website for more information.
