Megadeth, Chvrches and Pippi Longstocking: This Weekend in Uptown

UPTOWN — If you're looking for something to do this weekend, you won't have to look far: there's a lot happening around Uptown, from restaurant openings to a plethora of live music to choose from.

Here's seven events to occupy your time this weekend:

Miss Saigon Grand Opening: Miss Saigon held a soft opening this week in preparation for its grand opening this weekend. The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. as it gets a feel for the neighborhood. For more information click here. 1129 W. Argyle St. Meals are around $10.

Pancakes with Pippi Longstocking: The popular Swedish character will visit the Swedish American Museum Saturday for pancakes, crafts, singing and dancing. Participants will also learn to cook pancakes Pippi-style. All ages are welcome, but pre-paid and confirmed reservations are necessary. They can be made on the museum's website. $12 for members. $17 for non-members. 5211 N. Clark St.

Calibre 50 at the Aragon: Calibre 50 and Banda Carnaval will drop by the Aragon Ballroom for a 17-and-older concert Saturday. Tickets are $53 and can be purchased here. 7 p.m. 1106 W. Lawrence Ave.

Dr. Dog at the Riviera: Fresh off the release of their 8th album Psychadelic Swamp, Dr. Dog will take the stage at the Riviera Theatre Saturday. The Districts will also be performing. Tickets to the 18-and-older show are $30 and are available here. 8 p.m. 4746 N. Racine Ave.

Sirius XM Presents Megadeth at the Aragon: Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Children of Bodom and Havok will grace the stage of the Aragon Ballroom Sunday night. Tickets to the 17-and-older show are $45 and available here. 7 p.m. 1106 W. Lawrence Ave.

Chvrches at the Riviera: The Scottish electronic band Chvrches will be accompanied by Potty Mouth Sunday at the Riviera Theatre. Tickets to the 18-and-older show are $30. 8 p.m. 4746 N. Racine Ave.

Weave Baskets For Kids on Easter Sunday: Residents and Buena Park Neighbors will meet at Saint Mary of the Lake Sunday to make baskets and fill plastic eggs with candy for the annual Easter Egg hunt at the church. Approximately 25 baskets filled with toys and candy along with hundreds of plastic eggs are needed for the event. Those who want to help can bring baskets, small toys, candy or plastic eggs or just show up and make baskets with neighbors. Sunday. 2 p.m. 4200 N. Sheridan Rd.
