CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy was critically wounded in an accidental shooting in Auburn Gresham Thursday morning, according to police.

The boy was in the 9000 block of South Bishop Street at 11:10 a.m. Thursday when he was accidentally shot in his face, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Estrada said.

Police could not say if the boy shot himself. The investigation is ongoing, Estrada said.
