Chicago Police Football Team to Renew Rivalry with Fire Department Squad

MOUNT GREENWOOD — The Chicago Police Department's football team, the Enforcers, will renew its rivalry with the fire department's Chicago Blaze squad in the final game of the 2016 season.

The Enforcers will begin their 11th season in the National Public Safety Football League April 2. The Enforcers will take on the Cleveland Warriors at 1 p.m. at Brother Rice High School in Mount Greenwood.

The Catholic high school at 10001 S. Pulaski Road will host all home games. The Enforcers are coming off a four-win season last year. The league is made up of 21 teams from throughout the country.

Highlights of the five-game season include a road game May 21 against the defending champion Charlotte Cobras. And the resumption of the First Responders Memorial Game versus the CFD Blaze to conclude the season at 2 p.m. June 5 at Brother Rice.

The Enforcers are made up primarily of sworn members of the Chicago Police Department as well as players from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and other local agencies. The team has raised approximately $120,000 for local charities since its inception.

• Chicago Enforcers vs the Columbus Marauders on April 23 at Canal Winchester High School in
Canal Winchester, Ohio. (game time to be announced).

• Chicago Enforcers vs the Orange County Lawmen in the Gold Star Game at 4 p.m. April 30 at Brother Rice High School.

• Chicago Enforcers vs the Charlotte Cobras on May 21 in Charlotte NC (game time and stadium to be announced)

• Chicago Enforcers vs CFD Blaze in the First Responders Game at 2 p.m. June 5 at Brother Rice High School.
