Nursing Student Missing More Than a Week, Last Seen On Way to Beach

UPTOWN — More than a week after a 21-year-old woman went missing from her West Ridge home, her friends and family are rallying to find her.

Jessica Suarez, who graduated Lane Tech in 2013 and is enrolled in the nursing program at Harold Washington College, was last seen leaving her residence in the 6100 block of North Talman Avenue in West Ridge around 6 p.m. Feb. 25, according to police. Friends said she was going for a run on Foster Beach.

The Facebook group Finding Jessica Suarez had 694 likes as of Saturday afternoon.

Her light blue Honda Civic was found near the beach, according to a flyer being circulated. 

Suarez was wearing a dark knit hat, a white scarf and brown cloth coat, the flyer said.

Police described her as a Hispanic woman standing around 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.
