LOGAN SQUARE — An upcoming art exhibit focuses on the parts of our world that are hidden in plain sight.

Jennifer Cronin, a Chicago-based artist whose work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, will be the featured artist at I Am Logan Square Gallery later this month, displaying her takes on the untapped beauty in the world around us.

“(In)Conspicuous: Paintings and Drawings by Jennifer Cronin” opens March 11 at the gallery, 2644 1/2 N. Milwaukee Ave. and will run through May 6.

“As time has passed, I have turned my search outward," Cronin said. "Searching for meaning in the lives of others and the surrounding world. Hoping that we can all connect through our lives lived, our sense of empathy, our individual stories, our hopes and aspirations, and our shared struggles and disappointments. Chasing after the mystery and complexity of our lives, and the fingerprints that we leave behind in this world.”

The show will feature realistic paintings and drawing of everyday life in Chicago including industrial landscapes, foreclosed homes and customer services workers.

The opening will be held from 7-10 p.m. March 11
