CHICAGO — The city will see some snow flurries similar to what we saw Monday between around 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to meteorologists from the National Weather Service.

It will be enough snow to accumulate on grass, but temperatures are warm enough that it likely "won't cause any significant issues on the roads," said meteorologist Ricky Castro.

"Now that it's the beginning of March and it's starting to get a bit warmer, you need heavier snow rates to get any real accumulation on roads," Castro added.

Later in the week, though, enough snow is forecast to put a potential damper on Thursday morning commutes.

Between late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, Castro said, weather models are showing about three inches of snowfall in some parts of the city.

The Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation has deployed an extra 200 snow plows and salt spreaders to deal with the remains of Monday's light snow and freezing rain, according to a Tuesday morning statement.
