NORWOOD PARK — Police officers, firefighters and other first responders can attend a free yoga class Saturday and learn relaxation techniques, organizers said.

The first of what Fly Girl Dance and Fitness owner Kymberlee Raya said will be monthly free classes for first responders will take place from 4-5 p.m. Saturday at the studio, 6126 N. Northwest Highway.

Contributions will be accepted at the classes to be held on the last Saturday of the month and given to a different charity every month, Raya said. Donations from the first class will given to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.

The classes are designed to help police officers and firefighters add a "stress reduction tool" to their utility belts, Raya said, and help them cope with the "extraordinary challenges" they face every day on the job.

The class will feature yoga for beginners focusing on the basics of alignment, movement and breathing techniques, Raya said.
