CHICAGO— Two men were wounded in separate South Side shootings Thursday, police said.

Most recently, at 8:36 p.m., a 25-year-old man was arguing with two other men in the 10600 block of South Bensley Avenue on the Far South Side when he was shot in the chest, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in "stable" condition.

At 6:25 p.m., a 28-year-old man who had been shot in the face was found by police in the 4500 block of South Wood Street in the Back of the Yards, Estrada said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

No further information was available on the shooting, Estrada said. The man is a documented gang member, according to police.

No one is in custody for either shooting, Estrada said.
