UPTOWN — Selam Market will return to Uptown soon after a brief hiatus.

In April, Selam Market and Restaurant, which specializes in Ethiopian food, will reopen at 4543 N. Broadway, said Solomon Abebe, the former owner of Selam Market, at 5012 N. Sheridan Road.

The original market closed about eight months ago when the lease was up at the location, he said.

The new location will be similar except for the addition of the restaurant. Customers can expect it to carry similar items as the old one such as: beef, lamb, chicken, eggs, Ethiopian coffee beans, teff flour, spice and other culinary treasures, Abebe said.
