AVONDALE — It's time to sip, snack, paint and party at Chief O'Neill's.

The Irish pub and restaurant will host its second Paint, Sip, Snack and Party from 6:30-9:30 p.m. March 3. For $40, guests get a 12x16 canvas, supplies and instruction. The ticket also comes with wine, snacks and soda.

Tickets for two people are $70. Reservations are strongly encouraged, as space is limited.

The event kicks off the St. Patrick's Day festivities at Chief O'Neill's, 3471 N. Elston Ave. The week following, the restaurant will host a concert featuring Paul McKenna Band on March 8.

The Scottish folk band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.

A March 16 benefit concert by We Banjo 3 will raise money for Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in the West Loop. Chief O'Neill's will have a heated tent in the garden, along with an Irish buffet and cash bar.

Tickets for the St. Patrick's Day eve event are $30.

Chief O'Neill's opened in 1999, honoring Chicago Police Supt. Francis O'Neill, who served from 1901-05. The chief was not only lauded for reforming the department, but also for his vast collection of Irish music.
