Armed Robberies in Archer Heights, West Elsdon Lead to Police Warning

ARCHER HEIGHTS — Police are warning Southwest Side residents of a string of armed robberies that have hit Archer Heights and West Elsdon this month, according to a community alert issued Thursday.

In each incident, police said, four men approached people in the street, pulled out guns and robbed them.

The robberies were reported at:

• 2:30 p.m. Feb. 6 in the 4500 block of South Harding Avenue

• 3:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in the 4600 block of South Harding Avenue

• 1:40 p.m. Feb. 14 in the 5500 block of Fairfield Avenue

• 12:28 p.m. Feb. 16 in the 4900 block of South Kildare Avenue

• 11:45 a.m. Feb. 16 in the 5400 block of South Harding Avenue

Police described the suspects as four Hispanic men between ages 16-30, all standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-10.
