ROGERS PARK — Citing "personal reasons," Kesha will no longer be performing at Loyola University's Colossus show Friday, organizers announced in a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon.
"Kesha has expressed her disappointment in having to cancel, but she feels that this is the best decision for her at this time," the post read. "We respect her decision and wish her well."
Last week, a judge ruled that Kesha, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, could not break the recording contract she signed as a teenager with producer Dr. Luke (whose real name is Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald).
Kesha has alleged that Dr. Luke emotionally, mentally and sexually abused her and caused her to develop an eating disorder, for which she sought treatment in a Chicago suburb in 2014.
In response to the court's decision, Loyola students plan to rally in support of the pop star and to demand Sony release Kesha from her contract. The glitter-filled rally is still on for 5:45-8 p.m. outside Gentile Arena, 6511 N. Winthrop Ave., a student organizer said Wednesday.
All tickets will be refunded for Friday night's show, school organizers said.
Comedian Nick Offerman is still scheduled to perform Saturday.
