LAKEVIEW — Two armed robberies early Sunday have police warning Lakeview residents to be on alert.

The first took place around 2:25 a.m. in the 3600 block of North Greenview Avenue. The second happened a quarter-mile away in the 1300 block of West Cornelia Avenue around 4:07 a.m., police said.

In each case the victims were robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, and both ran off after the incidents, police said.

Police advise neighbors to be aware of surroundings and remain calm if confronted. It's important to remember unique physical characteristics and never pursue a fleeing attacker, police said.
