South Side Shootings Wound 16-Year-Old Girl, 20-Year-Old Man, Police Say

CHICAGO— A 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were wounded in separate South Side shootings Tuesday, police said. 

Most recently, at 6 p.m., the teen was in the 3000 block of West 37th Place in Brighton Park when someone walked up and shot her in the leg, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. She was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where she was listed in "stable" condition, Pacheco said. 

The teen is a documented gang member, police said. 

At 9 a.m., police found a 20-year-old man unresponsive in an alley in the 8800 block of South Winchester Avenue in Ashburn, Pacheco said. The man was taken to Christ Hospital where he was listed in "stable" condition, Pacheco said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said. 

No one is in custody for the shootings, Pacheco said.
