RIP Starbucks Across From Wrigley Field, Here's What Yelpers Thought Of It

By Justin Breen | February 23, 2016 6:19am | Updated on February 23, 2016 7:54am

CHICAGO — First McDonald's, now Starbucks. The area around Wrigley Field continues to evolve.

Weeks after McDonald's on Clark announced it would be closing, Starbucks on Addison across from Wrigley revealed it had closed.

The Starbucks at 1023 W. Addison St. had been in the neighborhood for 21 years, but it's closing to make way for Addison Park on Clark, a $140 million development that will span Addison Street from Sheffield to Clark, and Clark Street south of the intersection to Red Ivy, 3525 N. Clark St. The Starbucks recently had become a place where Major League teams hazed their rookies with coffee runs.

RIP Starbucks, but not without some of our favorite Yelp reviews of the coffee joint.

Don't screw up a tea order.

Props to the singing manager (not Joe Madden).

Bringing that "aloha spirit."

Hair in your coffee is just gross.

Chalkboard lies.

"What happened to businesses actually wanting business?"

Never crowded, even across from Wrigley.

No cold brew available = 2 stars on Yelp.

It's freezing in here.

You won't have these problems now that the Starbucks is gone.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
