WEST PULLMAN — Officials have confirmed missing British tourist Ademola Owolana was found dead in a Metra yard on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday afternoon, the body of a man appearing to match the description of Owolana was found on top of a decommissioned Metra train. Police discovered the man in Kensington Yard, a heavy maintenance facility near 123rd Street and Indiana Avenue in West Pullman, according to Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile.

"It appears he came in contact with energized lines" above the train, Reile said. "We have no idea how long [the body] has been there."

The man was identified as Owolana, 26, in Cook County Medical Examiner's records on Wednesday. Owolana was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday. Autopsy results are pending.

Police and relatives of Owolana, who was called "Addy," were engaged in an exhaustive search after reporting the man missing early Sunday morning. Owolana had traveled from his home in the United Kingdom to visit relatives in Chicago.

A missing person flier said Owolana was last seen at 4 a.m. outside of the Low Key club, 11627 S. Michigan Ave., less than a mile away from the train yard.

Owolana had been visiting family in southwest suburban Plainfield when he said he "wanted to go out and have a good time," said Natalie, a family friend who declined to say her last name. He went to a reggae lounge in Chicago with friends and a cousin.

Owolana went outside the club with one of the men early Sunday, Natalie said. They were sitting on a car, and at one point he asked for the keys to the car.

The other man said he did not have keys to the car and Owolana "started running down the block," Natalie said.

Sheriff Akinoso told ABC7 that Owolana had been drinking, and that his running off "was more like a joke."
