DOWNTOWN — The city is expected to get hit with 3 inches of snow starting Wednesday afternoon.
The South Side and eastern parts of the city are expected to be particularly hard hit by the snow, which will begin late in the morning or at mid-day, said AccuWeather meteorologist Dan Pydynowski. It will last until Wednesday evening.
"The morning commute may not really be impacted at all," Pydynowski said. "It could certainly impact the commute home."

The day will also be chilly, with temperatures reaching the mid-30s before falling to the mid- or upper 20s at night, Pydynowski said.
The rest of the week — and the weekend — are expected to be snow-free, Pydynowski said. Saturday will "probably top out" around 45 degrees, and Sunday will see temperatures in the 40s, as well.
It will be "a little milder over the weekend as we head into Saturday and Sunday," Pydynowski said. "There might be a small chance for a shower on Sunday."
