Chatham Shooting at Party Kills 25-Year-Old Man, Wounds Another

CHICAGO — One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting at a party in Chatham on Sunday morning, police said.

At 2:30 a.m., the men were at a party in the 600 block of East 79th Street when a fight broke out and shots were fired, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

A man was shot in his abdomen and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Estrada said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The man was identified as Raheem L. Robinson, 25, of the 400 block of West 104th Street, in Cook County Medical Examiner's records. Robinson was pronounced dead at 3:21 a.m.

Another 25-year-old man was shot in his shoulder and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was in "stable" condition, Estrada said.

No one was in custody.
