CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man was fatally shot in Auburn Gresham late Friday, according to police.

The man was outside in the 8500 block of South Hermitage Avenue at 11:20 p.m. when shots rang out, said Officer Ana Pacheco, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was struck in the abdomen and was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition before he was later pronounced dead, Pacheco said.

The man has been identified as Terell Sykes, who lived in the same block where he was shot, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, she said.
