CHICAGO — A 20-year-old woman was killed in a shooting on Feb. 17 in Auburn Gresham, police said.

At 8 p.m., someone was showing the woman a gun in the 7800 block of South Honore Street when the gun accidentally went off and a bullet hit the woman, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman. She was shot in her head and died at the scene.

The woman was identified as Tiana Brown, of the 2000 block of West 79th Place, in Cook County Medical Examiner's records. Brown was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m. Feb. 17. Autopsy results showed she died of a gunshot wound in her head, and the medical examiner's office ruled her death a homicide.
