CHICAGO — Five people have been injured in shootings since Monday, police said.
• Most recently, at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, a 22-year-old man was shot in Uptown, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was driving in the 900 block of West Leland Avenue when a car pulled alongside him and someone in the car shot at the man.
The man was hit multiple times in his body, head and neck. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.
The man is a documented gang member, police said.
• At 11 p.m. Monday, a 30-year-old man was shot in Altgeld Gardens, Sedevic said. The man was in the 13000 block of South Ellis Avenue when he was shot in his right leg. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.
The man was being uncooperative with investigators, police said.
• At 10 p.m., a 15-year-old girl was shot in Gage Park, Sedevic said. The girl was walking in the 5100 block of South Homan Avenue when she heard shots and felt pain.
The girl was shot in her shoulder and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.
• At 12:40 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park, Sedevic said. The man was standing outside in the 900 block of North Drake Avenue when he heard one shot and felt pain.
The man was shot in his left thigh. He took himself to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center and was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.
The man is a documented gang member, police said.
• At 11:55 a.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in Little Village, Sedevic said. The man was in the 3900 block of West 27th Street when someone walked up to him, shouted gang slogans and opened fire on the man.
The man was hit in his right thigh and left groin. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Sedevic said.
The man is a documented gang member, police said, and the shooting might be gang-related.
No one was in custody in these shootings.
