RIVER NORTH — The Chicago Avenue bridge will close to traffic between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Chicago Department of Transportation officials announced Tuesday.
The bridge will remain open to cyclists and pedestrians, and one lane of traffic will stay open going in each direction after 5 p.m., the announcement said.
The closure will be necessary so work crews can "make repairs to the grating on the bridge deck and to the supporting beams," officials said.
During the closure, the No. 66 CTA bus line will be rerouted to the Division Street bridge via Halsted and Larrabee Streets, officials said.
