AUSTIN — A 25-year-old woman was shot to death when she tried to break up a fight between two men in Austin Saturday morning, police said.

Around 5:25 a.m. Saturday, two men were arguing outside a house party in the 300 block of South Cicero Avenue when the woman stepped between them, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

One of the men then shot her in her head, Sedevic said.

Latania Anderson, of the 4700 block of West Maypole, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:40 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one is in custody, Sedevic said.
