BACK OF THE YARDS — Does Valentine's Day make you want to hole up with a Netflix show until all that Hallmark mushy stuff goes away?
The Back of the Yards Library may have your remedy: An Anti-Valentine's Day Party set for 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the library, 2111 W. 47th St.
The third annual party for teens ages 12-18 aims to promote independence among kids without putting stress on the coupling part of Valentine's Day.
Kids attending the party will make Jolly Rancher flowers by melting the candy in hot water and reshaping the sugar into something pretty. There will also be a fun discussion based on this prompt: "Who needs a Valentine when you've got ..."
There will also be snacks and music.
