NORWOOD PARK — Resurrection College Prep High School will give its highest honor to a former principal, lauding her commitment to "new ideas and and forward movement," school officials said.

Sister Stephanie Blaszczynski, a former principal of the all-girls Catholic school in Norwood Park, also graduated from the school and is a member of the Sisters of the Resurrection religious order.

Blaszczynski, who also founded the Chief Wanzagi Secondary School in Tanzania, will be honored at school's annual Charity and Truth Gala that will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 20 school officials said.

Tickets for the gala are $150 per person and the deadline for reservations is Wednesday, organizers said.

The gala will also honor Resurrection alumna Christine Wasielewski Kelly, who died in 2008, founded the school's job shadowing program and taught math at Resurrection College Prep as part of a 45-year career as an educator.

Bernard Kelly will accept the school's Charity and Truth Award on his wife's behalf, school officials said.

The gala will also feature the Resurrection Big Money Raffle, which has a grand prize of $10,000. The raffle's proceeds benefit the Sister Mary Monica Hope Scholarship Fund, which covers tuition for students unable to afford tuition at the school, 7500 W. Talcott Ave.

Tickets for the raffle are $50.
