BEVERLY — U.S. Rep. Daniel Lipinski (D-3rd) said he mentioned St. Barnabas School on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives last week.

Lipinski visited with students at the school Friday and presented members of student government with a resolution he presented in Washington D.C. celebrating Catholic Schools Week.

The sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students from the school at 10134 S. Longwood Drive in Beverly also shared with Lipinski where they were planning to attend high school.

All were planning to attend Catholic schools. Lipinski, a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep in University Village, spoke about the impact Catholic education has had on his life.

"Growing up, everybody I knew went to Catholic schools," the congressman said.
