CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy was shot in Brighton Park early Saturday, according to police.

The boy was walking in the 4500 block of South Whipple Street at 2 a.m. when someone in a passing car opened fire, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was struck in his right leg and left foot and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

The boy is a documented gang member, according to police.

No arrests have been made as the investigation is ongoing, Sedevic said.
