LOGAN SQUARE — Logan Square's newest brewery, Hopewell Brewing Company, is set to open its doors Friday afternoon.

The Milwaukee Avenue brewery and taproom has been a long time in the making and will finally open at 4 p.m.

The brewery announced it received its permits for the city Friday and will be open from 4 to 11 p.m., from noon until 11 p.m. Saturday and from noon until 9 p.m. Sunday.

Hopewell Brewing Co., 2760 N. Milwaukee Ave., is the project of three co-owners, husband and wife Samantha Lee and Stephen Bossu and their best friend Jonathan Fritz.

The brewery will start with a heavy focus on lagers.

The first three beers on tap include their First Lager, a Swift IPA and Farm and Family Saison.

Those are the only beers the bar is carrying, and there is no food.

Pints are $6 and half-pints are $3.

The minimal selection follows the owners' vision of a minimalist brewery in a minimalist setting. The focus is on the beer.
