CHICAGO — One man was killed and four people wounded in shootings on Monday, police said.

A 31-year-old man in Brainerd was killed when he answered his door and was shot, police said. The men who shot him were wearing reflective vests, and a camera captured the incident on video, the man's family said.

In non-fatal shootings:

• Most recently, at 8:36 p.m., two men were shot in Austin, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The men were inside a pickup truck in the first block of South Mason Avenue when someone shot at the car and fled.

A 45-year-old man was shot multiple times in his torso and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Trainor said. Another 45-year-old man was shot in his left thigh and taken to West Suburban Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Trainor said.

The first victim is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 11:34 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Austin, Trainor said. The man was walking in the 4800 block of West Adams Street when a dark-colored SUV pulled alongside and a man with a gun got out.

The man and the victim struggled before the victim was shot in his left leg, Trainor said. The victim took himself to Loretto Hospital and was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

• At 11:03 a.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in South Shore, Trainor said. The man was standing outside in the 7800 block of South Jeffery Boulevard when he was approached by three men, one of whom had a gun, who tried to rob him.

The man struggled with the robbers and was shot in his right thigh, Trainor said. A driver took the victim to Jackson Park Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Trainor said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
