CHICAGO — An officer fired his gun in West Ridge Sunday, but no injuries have been reported, police said.

Officers were on patrol around 4 a.m. Sunday in the 6400 block of North Claremont when one of them thought they were being shot at and he fired his gun, according to a Chicago Police news alert.

Some people fled the scene in a car and were not in custody, according to the department. Police are looking for them.

No injuries were reported in the incident, police said. No further information was available.
