CHICAGO — A Humboldt Park shooting left a 34-year-old man dead on Saturday night, police said.
At 10:45 p.m., the man was on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of North Springfield Avenue when two men walked up to him and one started shooting him, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was hit multiple times in his chest and groin.
Floyd Hodges, of the 5500 block of West Gladys, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 11:15 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The shooter and the other man ran away, Sedevic said. No one was in custody.
The victim was a documented gang member, police said.
