LOGAN SQUARE — A 25-year-old woman was injured in a Logan Square fire Friday morning, according to fire department officials.

The fire broke out in a two-story apartment building in the 3800 block of W. Schubert Ave. about 5:50 a.m., according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Curtis Hudson.

Firefighters rescued two people from the second floor, a man and the 25-year-old woman. The man refused medical treatment and the woman was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. She was in good condition, according to Hudson.

The cause of the fire was unknown as of Friday morning, but Hudson said it started on the first floor.

A total of 11 people were displaced by the fire including two children.
