Four Armed Robberies in Jeff Park, Portage Park Spark Police Alert

PORTAGE PARK — Far Northwest Side residents should be on alert after four early morning robberies within two hours Friday in Portage Park and Jefferson Park, police said.

In each incident, between one and three men approached the victim, displayed a handgun and demanded money, police said.

The incidents happened in the:

• 4800 block of west Roscoe Street at 4 a.m. Friday
• 5000 block of north Milwaukee Avenue at 4:36 a.m. Friday
• 2500 block of west Carmen Avenue at 5:18 a.m. Friday
• 5200 block of north Moody Avenue at 5:55 a.m. Friday.

Police are looking for one, two or three African American men between the ages of 18 and 25 in connection with these incidents as well as a Hispanic woman between the ages of 20 and 25.

The woman was described as weighing 170 pounds and wore a dark-colored puffy jacket, police said.
