UPTOWN — Andy Peters credits Scout owner Larry Vodak with designing the interior of his "baby:" True North, a quick-service cafe opening in Andersonville next month.

The cafe at 5507 N. Clark St. was originally named Progo, but Peters said he felt the new name represented the menu and location better, so he tapped the owner of the store at 5221 N. Clark St. to turn his vision into reality. Vodak helped incorporate geography and maps into the interior design to create the feel Peters wanted.

"He taught me a lot about design. Not only did I source as much furniture from him as possible, I was calling him up or meeting with him almost daily for advice and wisdom," he said. Vodak helped us accomplish something really cool that incorporates many elements of geography and the outdoors. We have an entire wall of globes, which I swear is cooler than it sounds."
