RENDERINGS: Take A Look Inside 'The District' Development In Canaryville

By Ed Komenda | January 28, 2016 5:36am

CANARYVILLE — There's been a lot of buzz around "The District," the four-building housing development recently pitched by David L. Chase, a property buyer with BCG Enterprises.

If Chase gets the zoning approvals he seeks, construction on "Phase 1" of the project could start along Halsted Street by July or August, bringing what he calls "luxurious housing" to the neighborhood.

But what does that look like? What kind of lifestyle could be worth between $1,600 and $1,800 a month?

DNAinfo Chicago got a hold of some renderings showing the development's interiors, complete with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, tiled bathroom floors and walk-in closets.

Take a look:

Each of the 14 apartments in Phase 1 will have its own furnace and central cooling unit with access to an on-site laundry room and bike storage area.

Residents will also have the opportunity to rent semi-private garages.

If Chase gets a zoning approval from the city, he plans to break ground in July or August.

Construction would then take nine months to complete, followed by a grand opening in April or May 2017.
