LOGAN SQUARE — D'Noche, a Mexican-focused restaurant along Milwaukee Avenue, is undergoing changes to both its name and menu later this month.

D'Noche, the dinner concept from Cafe Con Leche, is changing its name to De Noche Mexicana for dinner service.

The move comes during a time of change in the neighborhood, owner Esam Hani said.

"It was time to freshen up the place, put up a new sign and give our excellent chef an opportunity to create a new and expanded menu to reflect the diversity in the Logan Square neighborhood,” Hani said.

Chef Antonio Del Real is planning a new dinner menu, he said.

“We’re keeping a few Latino favorites we’ve been known for such as the jibarito, ropa vieja, and empanadas and adding so many new dishes such as Michelada mussels, enfrijoladas, huachinango (red snapper filet), and classics like pozole, carne asada, tacos, tortas, enchiladas, fajitas and more," Del Real said.

D'Noche, 2710 N. Milwaukee Ave., opened next door to Cafe Con Leche in 2009. Cafe Con Leche, which has been around since 2001, will continue to operate as-is.

Hani is not done on the block, as he has plans to expand Red Star Liquors into a 4,000-square-foot tap room at 2715 N. Milwaukee Ave. That project is currently under construction.

Hani, who also owns The Harding Tavern, plans to open a pizza bar in the former Mr. G's Beef at 2715 N. Milwaukee Ave.
